The incident took place in Salempur village under Uttaraon police station area, where blood-soaked bodies of Vijay Kumar and his cousin and Babloo - in their 20s - were found in fields adjacent to their house.
Villagers claimed the youths were last seen entering the house of Laxman Bharatiya, who was their next-door neighbour late last night.
The injuries on the bodies of the deceased persons suggested that they were beaten up with sticks before their heads were smashed with a heavy object, police said.
Laxman was, therefore, taken to the police station for interrogation where he alleged that Vijay used to ogle at his elder daughter and harass her with lewd remarks, they said.
Last night, Laxman's son Ramesh accosted Vijay, who grew livid and called Babloo, who was a history-sheeter and lived a few houses away, police said.
The cousins barged in Laxman's house, where Ramesh was chatting with a friend.
They got outnumbered as Ramesh and his friend were joined by other family members - Laxman, his wife and the two girls - in attacking Vijay and Babloo with sticks and bricks, police said.
Ramesh dumped the bodies in the fields with the help of his friend after which they fled the village, police claimed adding, a search was on for them while Laxman, his wife and their two daughters have been arrested.
