Police Monday arrested two brothers who allegedly killed a man and attempted to dispose of his body, an offical said.
An offence under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) was registered against the duo - Madanlal Harlal Savak (28) and his brother Shravan Harlal Savak (30) - with the Wada police station, said Palghar district rural police PRO Hemant Kumar Katkar.
A police team intercepted their car in the wee hours at the Waghota Toll Naka on the Wada-Manor Road, he said.
When they checked the car's boot, they found a body in it, Katkar said.
The two were trying to dispose of the body of one Narayan Lal Champa Lal Sevak (29) after killing him, he said, adding the deceased was a resident of Rajastan.
The motive behind the killing was still not known, the PRO added.
