Two brothers shot dead inside home

Two brothers were today shot dead by unidentified assailants at their residence in the Loni area here, police said.
The deceased, identified as Manoj (40) and Balraj (35), were killed in an attack in the morning by four assailants who had come on bikes.
"Two of the youths, who had their helmets on, entered the house and opened fire on Manoj and Balraj while the remaining two assailants waited outside.
"The duo suffered bullets to their heads, resulting in Balraj's death on the spot while Manoj died on the way to hospital," said a senior police officer.
The assailants fled the spot after the attack with a case at Loni police station having been registered in the matter.

"As per preliminary inquiries, the attack might have been motivated by personal enmity with the assailants perhaps being contract killers," police added.
