"Nikhil Gaur (13) and Umesh Gaur (11), both cousins drowned in the dam. However, police were able to rescue Vikash Yadav (10)," Ratibad police station in-charge Kanchan Singh Rajput said.
She informed that the children were residents of Sewania Gaud village near the dam.
"They had gone there (at the dam area) to fly kites and later ventured into the water. Unable to fathom the depth of the water, they started drowning," she added.
On getting information, the police reached the spot and started rescue operation. But two of them - Nikhil and Umesh - had died while Vikas was rescued and admitted to a hospital.
