Two labourers were today killed when a portion of earth caved in during construction of a road in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
A group of labourers were busy in road construction work at Lar village of Gulabgarh when suddenly the earth caved in this evening, trapping two labourers, a police official said.
He said rescuers immediately swung into action and after hectic efforts recovered body of one of the labourer, while another was rescued in an injured condition.
The injured labourer succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to a hospital, the official said.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh (37) and Mushtaq Ahmad (19), both residents of Shadole of Reasi.
