Inspector General of Police (Operations) G H P Raju said a self-styled corporal of lesser known Liberation Achik Elite Force (LAEF) and his aide surrendered before the district superintendent of police.
They surrendered with an AK 47 rifle, two magazines and 31 rounds of live ammunition and a 9 mm pistol with one magazine and 6 rounds of live ammunition, he said.
The surrender followed counter insurgency operations in the area, he said.
LAEF is active in smaller pockets and mainly in North Garo Hills district.
