Two miscreants shot dead by rival gang

Two miscreants were shot dead allegedly by a rival group outside Lakshmipur railway station in Burdwan district today, the police said.
Bhandul Ghosh (40) and Sadhu Rajbangshi (38), who were accused in various cases including murder, alighted from a train and were riding a motorbike when a group of miscreants stopped them.
They fired on them from close range and also stabbed them to ensure their death, the police said adding about 15 rounds were fired.
The group of assailants then fled.
According to preliminary investigation, the two were killed in retaliation to another murder in Purbasthali area about a month ago, the police said.
