Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the 43rd Assam Rifle and police made the arrest from Kashipur and Lodi villages while they were carrying out extortion activities in the area yesterday, he said.
A pistol along with seven rounds of live ammunition were recovered from their possession.
The militants were later handed over to the Haflong police station, he said.
