Police has arrested two persons out of five accused in the killing of a 50-year-old forest guard who tried to stop them from doing illegal mining in Dhabi forest range area.
The two accused identified as Ramswroop and Durgashnker could be arrested while other three are still at large, police said. Yesterday, a case was registered against five persons, including a woman various sections of IPC.
Cattle guard Shayar Singh was murdered and forester Dhinder Singh injured, allegedly by five persons after they tried to stop them from doing illegal mining in Dhabi forest range area in the district on Wednesday night.
District Forest Officer (DFO) Rajendra Singh Nathawat said, "regarding the matter factual report has been sent to Chief Minister and top officials," adding that the SP has also been requested to provide a police team with the forest officials to prevent such incidents.
A memorandum for the security of the forest officials would soon be submitted to the Chief Minister and district collector, Nathawat added.
However, the city SP Priti Chandra has said the forest officials of the district have already been asked to inform the police about such raids in forest and wild life areas but they do not follow instruction.
Meanwhile, condemning the guard's death, member of State Wild Life Board Rajpal Singh said, "police should oppose illegal mining with the support of forest officials otherwise crimes like trampling down of a top officer in Madhaya Pradesh (MP) by a tractor can take place in Rajasthan too."
Law and order situation in forest and wild life areas is very poor in the state that resulted in the killing of forest and wild life officials, he added.
There are about 800 mines of sandstone and stone in Dhabi, Sathoor, Khakat, Umer areas of the district from where it is exported to Iran, Iraq, UK and other parts of the world.
