Two revenue officials charge-sheeted for accepting bribe

The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) today produced two separate charge-sheets against 2 officials of the revenue department in the court of special Judge Anti-corruption for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe.
"Two charge-sheets have been produced in the court of special Judge Anti Corruption court Jammu against Vipan Kumar and Baj Singh by the State Vigilance Organisation Jammu," a SVO spokesman said.
A compliant was lodged by Krishan Chand on October 4, 2014 against Vipan Kumar then posted as Patwari Halqa Durai in Samba for demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 20,000 for entering of mutation of his land.
"The complainant paid Rs 20,000 as illegal gratification under compulsion. Thereafter, a trap was laid and said patwari was caught red handed while accepting the amount as illegal gratification from the complainant in presence of the independent witnesses," he said.

He said that another complainant Sunil Sharma had alleged that Baj Singh the then Patwari Chack Patyari, had demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 5,500 for issuing copy of land records.
"A trap was laid and said patwari was caught red handed while accepting Rs 5,500 as illegal gratification from the complainant in presence of the independent witnesses," he said.
