Police recovered a pistol, a revolver and 16 bullets from Murthy Srinivas Reddy alias Yadanna, a State Committee member of Jana Shakti Group, and Manwada Vasanth, a former member.
"Yadanna purchased the weapons from Vasanth, as he wanted to spread the Maoist footprint in the region," said Narsimha Reddy, ACP, Siddipet.
Yadanna's activities came to light after his elder brother lodged a complaint of intimidation in a land dispute against him, the officer said.
Police have booked the duo under appropriate sections of the IPC and Arms Act.
