The UDF leaders today met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and urged him to call for a special session of the assembly on the issue.
The front today observed a 'black day' to protest the cash crunch faced by the state follwing the demonetisation of 1,000 and 500 rupee notes.
"UDF will not accept any decision that will destroy the co-operative sector in the state. We will fully back government against any such move by the BJP," Opposition leader in the state Assembly, Ramesh Chennithala told reporters after a delegation of UDF leaders met Vijayan.
"We will have to launch joint agitations and this would be decided after the all party meeting on November 21," he said.
