Undertrial escapes police custody

An undertrial, lodged in district jail here escaped police custody when he was being taken for a court hearing.
Sameryab, lodged in the jail on charges of loot, was being taken for a court hearing in Shamli's Kairana town, when he escaped custody by throwing chilly powder on the cops yesterday, police said.
Security has been tightened after the incident and the search for the accused is on, they said.
