Uttar Pradesh PWD minister and SP spokesperson Shivpal Singh Yadav told reporters here that the Government took "immediate and strict action" in the Badaun case.
He said the SP-led government accepted the demand of the victims' family members and immediately ordered for a CBI probe into the matter.
Referring to National Crime Record Bureau data he claimed that the percentage of incidents of rape and crime against women in Uttar Pradesh was the lowest.
Yadav lashed out at BSP supremo Mayawati saying before raising a finger at the SP government, she should introspect about how the state fared during her rule.
