: An assistant professor of city-basedOsmania University was booked for allegedly cheating a woman colleague after "promising to marry" her, police said today.
The woman in her complaint on Friday last alleged that Kiran Kumar, had promisedto marry her but tied the knot with another woman in March this year, they said.
Police said the complainant claimed she knew Kiran Kumar for the past 10 years and that he had cheated her after promising to marry her.
The woman also alleged that Kiran Kumar's family members had threatened and assaulted her last week on the matter, they added.
A case was registered under relevant IPC sections and the allegations are being probed, the police inspector said.
