UP govt set up drought monitoring cell

The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a drought monitoring cell to gather information on the drought situation in Bundelkhand and other regions of the state.
A drough monitoring cell has been constituted and Joint Secretary of Revenue department Raja Ram has been appointed as its Chairman, Relief Commissioner Anil Kumar said.
The cell will gather information on the drought situation as per the directives of National Disaster Management Authority and present it to the government, he said.
Directives to deal with the drought situation have already been issued to divisional commissioners and district magistrates concerned. Besides, toll free numbers have been notified and control room has been set up at Relief Commissioner's office, he said.
