UP minister Iqbal Mahmood hospitalised after chest pain
Press Trust of India Moradabad (UP) Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Iqbal Mahmood was admitted to a hospital here following a chest pain.
Mahmood, Minister for State Fisheries, yesterday took part in a cycle rally organised on the direction of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mahmood's elder son Shoeb Iqbal said.
However, after riding 4 km Mahmood fell ill and was forced to come back, he said, adding, after primary medical tests the minister was admitted to the ICU of a hospital.
65-year-old Mahmood who had a heart attack four years back is suffering from coronary artery disease although his condition is stable, said Dr Anurag Merhotra, who is treating the minister at the hospital.
"We are waiting for results of the medical tests after which the condition of his health would be clearer," he said.
