heavy rainfall at a few places over the past 24 hours.
Met office sources said, rainfall was recorded at Balrampur, Bansi, Utraula, Shahabad, Bhinga, Bilari, Bisalpur, Dumariaganj, Maharajganj, Hapur and Kasganj.
They said heavy rain might occur at one or two places in the state.
Central Water Commission sources said that Ganga which was rising all through from Kannauj to Varanasi was flowing very near the danger mark at Fatehgarh.
Yamuna was also showing a rising trend from Mathura to Naini (Allahabad), sources said, adding, Sharda river was still flowing above the danger mark at Palia Kalan though it has started receding.
Ghaghra continues to flow above the red mark at Elgin Bridge, Ayodhya and Turtipar while Rapti was close to it at Shravasti and Balrampur and Burrhi Rapti at Siddhartnagar.
