Uttar Pradesh would soon have its third tiger reserve at Pilibhit, which would be the country's 45th tiger reserve.
A notification in this regard had been issued earlier this week, an official release said today.
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve was the state's first tiger reserve that came into existence in 1987, followed by Amangarh Tiger Reserve established in 2012.
The release said about 118 tigers are found in the various forests of the state.
Located on the Indo-Nepal border, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is spread over 73,024.98 hectares and is home to nearly 30 tigers and many other endangered species, the statement said.
