According to SP Rural Ajay Sehdev, Lutfur Rehman was shot dead in the village by unidentified armed men over a dispute.
Police rushed to the spot after getting information and and started with a search operation to nab the assailants.
Irate villagers protested over the killing and refused to handover the body to police.
However, the body was later sent for post mortem after senior police officials intervened and assured the locals of a fair probe.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened here and extra police force has been deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
