Uproar against school after students seen 'drinking'

A row erupted at a school here today after pictures of a Class 12 farewell party, where students were seen holding liquor bottles pretending to drink, went viral on social media.
The photographs of the students holding liquor bottles and drinking juice and cold drink went viral on social media yesterday following which parents and some organisations expressed anger and protested, terming the act as against native culture.
Volunteers of various organisations, including students and women's outfits, staged demnonstrations demanding action against the school authorities and against the teacher who floated the idea of party with liquor bottles.
Meanwhile, the principal of the school, Sister Joshina said confusion about the party was created as it was on beach theme and asserted that the management did not have any intention of promoting liquor culture in the school.
