The mutilated body of Rubel Lamar Fox, a resident of Pennsylvania, was recovered by the police this morning near Ganesh Jhora waterfall between Sevoke and Mongpong, police said.
Fox was missing since yesterday after he trekked several metres up the hill near the waterfall, they said.
According to his friend, Ethan Phelps from Florida, who was waiting at the base, after Fox failed to return for a long time, he reported the matter at Mongpong police station, they said.
Soon after, Fire Brigade personnel from Malbazar near here were dispatched with Phelps and some police personnel to the area in search of Fox but the trekker could not be traced, they added.
