"We have signed a seven-year, USD 30 million deal with the Madhya Pradesh government to digitise its 377 urban local bodies," the company CEO Sajan Pillai said during "Meet and Greet" event with the top cricket players of Chennai Super Kings organised by the company here.
Players including Brendon McCullum, Irfan Pathan, CSK Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina were present at the event.
As part of the deal, the company will help these local bodies provide facilities such as electronic bill payments and online filing of grievances to its citizens, Pillai said.
It will support the state's projects in water, electricity, public health and transportation outlined in the Chief Minister's infrastructure development manifesto, Vision 2018, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhoni said solutions such as these make life simpler, especially in the delivery of healthcare. In a lighter vein, however, he said he was scared of injections. "I am really scared of injections. I hate seeing the sight of injections giving pain," he stated.
UST Global Chief Marketing Officer Nikki Arora said, "We are proud to be associated with one of the most commendable and successful cricket teams of IPL. We believe that business and sports, like cricket, have much in common, with the success of both hinging on team effort, agility, and strategy.
