"The motive behind setting up of judicial commission (to probe land deals in Haryana), is just to harass him (Vadra) and smacks of political vendetta," Congress spokesman Rajeev Shukla said here.
"Earlier also Rajasthan government found no evidence against Vadra...Now Haryana government has set up a judicial commission to probe a private businessman's deals," he said.
He said that the land deals by Vadra, do not fall under the "purview of judicial scrutiny".
Shukla said that "the entire party is behind him (Vadra)," who was being allegedly targetted by the BJP.
On May 14, the Haryana government has formed a commission to probe grant of license(s) to some entities, including Vadra's company, for developing commercial colonies in Sector 83 of Gurgaon.
Earlier, the CAG had alleged that Vadra's firm was one of the nine companies in the area which had not submitted documents on financial adequacy.
On Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's "aggressive" posturing recently, he said Rahul had always remained active in Congress.
He said that yoga guru Ramdev too had appreciated Rahul recently.
