Majumdar alleged that Sitaram Mukherjee, general secretary of the university employees union entered his chamber with some outsiders and heckled and gheraoed him.
Majumdar then called the police and lodged a complaint against Mukherjee.
Mukherjee denied the allegations of Majumdar and instead claimed that the vice-chancellor has transferred three employees of Majumdar's department but he was not relieving them.
"I went to his chamber to request him to relieved the three employees who have been transferred by the vc," Mukherjee said.
