In a letter addressed to the newly-appointed BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur, Verma requested the Cricket Board to end the impasse that has engulfed cricket administration in the eastern state for more than a decade.
"Today, there is no recognised organisation within the State of Bihar to promote the game of cricket. There is a great need for such an organisation. We at Cricket Association of Bihar believe that we are in a position to fill in the gap that exists today," Verma wrote in his letter.
At the moment, there is no recognised cricket board in Bihar to promote the game with three governing bodies - Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), Association of Bihar Cricket (ABC) and CAB - involved in a legal battle to determine which authority would control cricketing activities in the state.
"It is with hope that we approach you and request you to consider us for being conferred with the full Membership of the BCCI. Our objectives are the same as those of BCCI and we would want to work along with BCCI.
After the bifurcation of the state of Bihar in the year 2000, the new state of Jharkhand snatched the full membership without consulting the then members, who represented Bihar before the division of the state, he said.
"Since 2003 Bihar lost its membership and the talented cricketers of the state failed to play any recognised cricket conducted by the BCCI," Verma said.
