Veteran Congress leader and former Lok Sabha MP Bagun Sumbrai died at the Tata Main Hospital here today, TMH sources said.
He was 94.
Sumbrai was admitted to THM following a heart attack about 40-days ago and since then undergoing treatment. He died of multi-organ failure, the sources said.
Sumbrai was five times MP from Singbhum constituency between 1977 and 2004.
He was also a minister in undivided Bihar and deputy speaker in Jharkhand Assembly.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das expressed his condolence over the death of Sumbrai.
"I am very shocked over the death of Sumbrai, who led the Jharkhand Movement", Das said in a statement.
