Veteran Kannada actor C H Loknath, who has acted in about 650 movies and performed in over 1,000 plays, died at a private hospital here Monday following heart attack, family sources said.
Loknath, 91, was suffering from age-related ailments, they said.
Fondly addressed as 'Uncle' by those in the industry, he was born on August 14, 1927. His acting career spanned almost six decades.
He made his debut in the National award winning movie 'Samskara' in 1970.
He acted in several notable movies like 'Naagara Haavu, 'Bangarada Manushya', 'Pushpaka Vimana' and 'Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu, which was based on Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar's short stories 'Vayyari.'
