"A meeting of VHP's Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal will take place in Kumbh Mela ground from February 5 to 7. In addition to Hindu saints, revered figures from among Jains, Buddhist and Sikh community have been invited as we believe these sects are offshoots of Sanatan Dharma. The Dalai Lama has given his consent to attend our function," Singhal told reporters here.

"Among the issues that are likely to be discussed, the construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya will be accorded top priority," the former VHP supremo said.

The claim on the Ramjanmabhoomi site has been only strengthened by the Allahabad High Court's judgement on the title suit, he said.

"Now, the VHP considers itself duty-bound to take the movement to its logical conclusion by constructing a grand temple at the place," Singhal said.

Blaming the recent killing of two jawans along the LoC by Pakistani troops on "infirmity of the central government", Singhal said the country's political leadership must show some strength and toughness, else armed forces would end up demoralised.

Replying to a media query, he said, "the spread of western culture among the Indian youth has been facilitated by so- called secularism that has been propagated those interested in vote bank politics. The horrific Delhi gang-rape was one of the many manifestations of this cultural degradation".
