Villager kills man over money-related tiff

A middle-aged man was crushed to death under a jeep allegedly by a villager in Sahapur taluka of the district over a scuffle on a money related matter, police said today.
Deepak Andale, 42, a native of Sapgaon village, had lent some money as loan to Kiran Bangar, 27, of Beradwadi village in the district. A scuffle broke out between the two when Andale asked Kiran to return his money, Shahpur police station inspector Sanjay Dhumal said.
The two had met near Lehe Phata village yesterday morning and got embroiled into a heated argument after which Andale, who had arrived at the spot on a motorcycle, started to return but was soon dashed by Deepak's jeep, the officer said.
Deepak ran down the vehicle over Andale killing him on the spot, he said.
The accused has been arrested and further investigation was on, police said.
