The 46-year-old actor will reunite with Neal Moritz, the producer behind the high octane street-racing franchise 'Fast and the Furious', for the new action adventure movie, according to Deadline.
Moritz will produce through his Original Films production company, while Diesel's One Race Films will also produce.
The pair have worked together for numerous years on the 'Fast & Furious' franchise, as well as 'XXX', and are said to be working on a sequel to the latter.
Diesel is currently in high demand after starring in the sixth instalment of his signature series this summer. 'Fast & Furious 6' - which co-starred Paul Walker, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Luke Evans - became the highest grossing film in the street racing franchise, taking over USD 740 million worldwide.
The actor will next be seen reprising his role as Riddick in sci-fi action thriller, 'Riddick', a follow-up to 2000's 'Pitch Black' and 2004's 'The Chronicles of Riddick'.
