A section of Visva-Bharati university teachers, employees and students have launched an indefinite dharna as classes remained suspended.
The agitators were on the dharna in front of the Central Office, which is the office of Vice-Chancellor Sushanta Dutta Gupta.
They were protesting against various decisions taken by the VC recently on appointment, admission, promotion, etc.
Visva Bharati Sikshak Sangha convenor Biplab Louha said the dharna, which completed eight days today, would continue till their demands were met.
While classes were suspended in almost all the departments, offices were open but normal works were affected.
No university official on behalf of the management was available for comment on the ongoing stalemate.
