Vizag: three arrested for raping a girl in car

Three men were arrested here for raping a 23-year-old girl from Hyderabad in a car, police said.
The accused were identified as Nakka Yerendra Rao alias Kiran (28), his brother Nakka Sunil Kumar (25) and his friend Daliboina Shiva (26), residents of Ramnagar area.
Deputy commissioner of police Dr C M Trivikram Varma said the girl had come to Vizag on March 4 to attend a wedding in Pendurthi area.
After attending the wedding with her friend, she returned to Ramnagar at night, but as her friend's house was full with relatives, she moved to another friend's house.
The DCP said that on Thursday night when she and some others were having a party by roadside, the boys in the group left her and fled seeing a police patrol car.

Nakka Sunil, who owns a taxi, and his friend Sanivada Ramu saw her alone, and offered to drop her home. After she got in, Sunil reportedly called up his elder brother Naka Yerendera on cell phone. Yerendera arrived with his friend Shiva, put the girl in an Innova and drove to a remote place, where the three -- Sunil, Yerendera and Shiva -- allegedly raped her.

Later they left her near the railway station at around 3 am on Friday.
The girl called her friends, and also summoned Shiva, saying she wanted help. When Shiva arrived at the station, he was caught by the victim's friends and was handed over to II-Town Police.

Police then tracked down the other two last night based on his confession, the DCP said.
The role of Ramu was being ascertained, he added.
The girl was sent for medical examination.
