"Personnel from various parts of the state will participate in various categories like volleyball, football, hockey, basket ball, handball, gymnastics etc. During the five-day event to be held at various grounds in the city," said city police commissioner B. Shivdhar Reddy.
About 2000 participants, including 120 women athletes from across the state, will participate in the meet.
Visakhapatnam had hosted similar events in 1999 and 2006.
"Visaklhapatnam range had won overall championship in both the categories of men and women, held in Hyderabad in 2012," Reddy said.
