Six persons, including medical aspirants and 'Munna bhais', have been named in two chargesheets filed today by the CBI in two different cases related to Madhya Pradesh's Vyapam scam.
The chargesheets were filed in two separate cases related to alleged irregularities in Pre-Medical Test conducted by Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) in 2009 and 2010.
In first case related to the 2010 test, CBI has named five accused including two impersonators, a candidate and two other persons who allegedly acted as middlemen.
"The investigation revealed that both impersonators, residents of district Bareilly and Chandoli (Uttar Pradesh) had impersonated as candidates in the written examination of PMT-2010 held on June 20, 2010 at Guna with the help of middlemen," said the agency's spokesperson here.
Both the impersonators had earlier jumped bail and were absconding, she said.
"CBI made extensive efforts during investigation to trace them and both the accused surrendered in the trail court. The investigation against one absconding candidate in this case has been kept open," the spokesperson said.
In another case, the chargesheet has been filed against a candidate for her alleged involvement in irregularities in 2009 PMT exam, she said.
The chargesheets were filed in special CBI courts in Guna and Gwalior respectively.
At least 155 FIRs have been registered by the CBI to look into the scam, which relates to massive irregularities in recruitments for government jobs and selection for various professional courses like engineering and medical done by the MPPEB or 'Vyapam'.
