"The CO of INS Talwar has been relieved of his command duties," confirmed Navy sources.
In December last year, a fishing trawler sank after colliding with Navy's frontline frigate INS Talwar near Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra injuring four of the 27 persons on board the civilian vessel.
It is also learnt that Navy has constituted a board of inquiry into the incident involving submarine INS Sindhughosh.
Earlier this month, the Kilo class submarine nearly ran aground while entering the Mumbai harbour.
In August last year, Navy lost its latest submarine INS Sindhurakshak after an explosion in its torpedo section killing all the 18 personnel on board.
