Doran Martell's run on the blood-soaked fantasy drama ended in episode one of season six, and Siddig, who portrayed him, insists he was murdered because the character was becoming too popular.
He also fears he may have inadvertently offended someone on set, because Martell was not supposed to be killed off so soon, reported Contactmusic.
"There was an enormous amount of fan excitement when I got named to be on the show, and everyone was like, 'Oh my God, yes, Doran Martell, he's going to be great as Doran Martell'. That might have been the kiss of death.
Siddig's Martell and his guard were murdered by Indira Varma's character Ellaria Sand and one of her daughters in a shocking chain of events that also included the death of Martell's son, Trystane, at the hands of Sand's other two daughters.
