Water level in Chambal river has risen alarmingly due to heavy rainfall in the eastern parts of Rajasthan, an official said.
The water level was recorded 127 metre today and danger level mark is 129.79 metre, as per the Dholpur's flood control room.
The normal level mark of the river is 119.30 metre.
The Dholpur district administration has increased surveillance in the villages and hamlets situated on the banks the river.
Dholpur Collector Nannu Mal Pahadia today surveyed the vulnerable areas falling in Chambal river and directed officials to remain alert to control the situation.
Dholpur recorded 352 mm rainfall today followed by 331 mm in Sepau, 323 mm in Badi, 412 mm in Basedi, 327 mm in Rajakheda and 361 mm in Sarmathura, flood control room said.
Bharatpur and Rajakhera each recorded 14 cm rainfall followed by 13 cm in Chhabra, 11 cm in Chhipabarod, 9 cm in Bhusawar in the last 24 hours. Various places recorded 1 cm to 8 cm rainfall during the period.
The department has forecast heavy rainfall in isolated places in east Rajasthan and light to moderate at isolated places in west Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
