"Very much concerned with the events, the Commission today took suo motu cognisance," WBHRC joint secretary Sujoy Kumar Haldar told PTI here.
"Chairman Justice (retd) Ashok Kumar Ganguly has directed the state Home Secretary to get the slew of events enquired by an official not below the rank of additional director general (ADG) of police and submit a report within two weeks," Haldar said.
The principal has today said at a press conference that she was forced to resign by the police and the mob that had gathered on September 12 at the school and indulged in vandalism.
Sarkar, who had been arrested on September 12, was bailed out on September 16.
A number of persons, including some parents of students, have already been arrested for ransacking the school.
