We are on right path, 100 days too short to judge us: Fadnavis

As he completes 100 days in office tomorrow, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said it was too short a period to evaluate a Government's performance and rejected Opposition criticism of his administration as he praised ally Shiv Sena for cooperation.
He hit back at the Congress, which has said "nothing concrete" has been done in the last 100 days, saying the Opposition party should first give account for its "misdeeds" while in Government (along with NCP) and reply to corruption allegations before passing judgement on his work.
"Those who pushed Maharashtra into backwardness, made the State bankrupt, forced farmers to commit suicide and under whose tenure unemployment, crime against women and Dalits were on the rise, are asking about my report card," he said in an interview with PTI.

The Congress and NCP, who ruled the State for 15 years, were rejected by the voters in October last year due to their ineffectiveness and "misrule", he maintained.
Fadnavis said 100 days is too short a period for evaluating the performance of a Government, but the BJP-Shiv Sena administration is moving in the right direction. "One can judge our intentions in 100 days and we have shown that we are moving in positive direction."
The 44-year-old MLA from Nagpur took charge on October 31 last as the head of BJP's first-ever Government in the State.

Though his party did not get clear majority in the last year's October 15 Assembly election, the BJP Government got into a comfortable position after Shiv Sena, which fought the poll separately, joined it later.

Asserting that he is firmly in the saddle, Fadnavis said the coalition Government is running "smoothly" and he was getting required support from Sena. "I am in touch with Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and getting good co-operation from Shiv Sena Ministers."
A co-ordination committee consisting of members from the saffron allies will be set up soon, the CM said.
Fadnavis described as "mischievous" allegations that he was at loggerheads with senior BJP leader and Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse (who was widely seen as a strong contender for the CM post).
"Khadse did not attend the Cabinet meeting this week due to ill health and had informed me accordingly. Still, there were reports that all is not well in my Government. Despite being ill, next day Khadse came for a meeting of District Collectors," Fadnavis said, seeking to put at rest speculation about differences between the two.
