Shyamalan has made a name for himself in international cinema with films like "The Sixth Sense", "Unbreakable" and "After Earth", and "Wayward Pines" is his debut TV show as a director-producer. It stars "Airlift" actress Nimrat Kaur.
The filmmaker, however, says he has apprehensions about working on a longer TV series. The first season of "Wayward Pines" had 10 episodes and the director says he was certain he wouldn't go beyond that number.
"It would have been impossible. I would have peaced out for sure. I don't know how they do it. We can barely do ten. I mean, when you're doing every detail of that line and this line, and making sure it's going the right way. We went to the studio and said, 'This is what we think it will be. We will not go longer than this. So if you want to do a second season, this is where it's going to end."
"I'm just editing my movie. But I'm oppressively on them. I'm sure they hear my voice all the time."
The season two premieres on May 27 on Star World Premiere HD.
