The data, collected from the weather stations will help in assessment of crop insurance benefits to be provided to the farmers against their crop loss.
"The state government has already launched weather-based crop insurance scheme for the ongoing kharif season to ensure relief to farmers in the backdrop of delayed monsoon," an official statement here said today.
Under the scheme, the establishment of weather stations at every 10 kms distance is underway across the state, and these stations will collect data of crop damage using ultramodern equipments, thereby helping in calculation of crop insurance benefits to farmers, it said.
The officials have been instructed to give proper advice to farmers from time to time, in the backdrop of delayed monsoons.
