What's the point of apologising under guillotine: Salim Khan

Veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan has once again addressed the controversy surrounding son Salman's rape analogy, saying it was used by
media due to the "saturation point".
Salman had landed himself in soup when he compared himself to a raped woman while taking about the the physically gruelling shoot of "Sultan".
The 50-year-old actor chose not to comment on the controversy despite repeated demands for an apology.
His father Salim, who had apologised on his son's behalf, however, today slammed the media for blowing up the issue.
"Normally people apologise to get rid of the problem but, I meant it hoping that the problem would be over.

"But the commercial compulsion of the media wanted to carry it to the saturation point. I regret not knowing this," Salim wrote.

The 80-year-old "Sholay" writer said it does not make sense to force someone to apologise.
"What is the meaning of getting an apology from a person under the guillotine, who knows rightly or wrongly that he has not committed a crime," he wrote.
Bollywood celebrities including Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Sona Mohapatra had condemned the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" star's remarks while many in the industry opted to stay silent on the topic.
The National Commission for Women has also demanded an apology from Salman and has asked the 50-year-old actor to appear before it on July 8.
