Auto component maker Subros is working to supply to its customers, including Maruti Suzuki India, which has suspended production, from its facilities in Noida following the fire at its Manesar unit.

While it has not set a time line for restarting operations at the Manesar facility that was destroyed in a fire on Sunday, the company said it is working "expeditiously" to resume production at the fire-wrecked plant.

"We have already started the process to resume supplies. We have facilities at Noida and Greater Noida as well as collaboration with Denso. We are looking at all options. Dispatches from other facilities will begin in a day or so," Subros Ltd Chairman Ramesh Suri said.

The company is also working at a fast clip to start operations at the Manesar plant, he added.

"We are also working to bring back the (Manesar) facility back to production as soon as possible. We are trying to bring it back in the same position as earlier in the shortest time possible," Suri said.

On Sunday, a major fire broke at the Manesar plant of Subros which took more than three hours to douse. There were no reports of casualty.

Yesterday, one of the company's largest customers Maruti Suzuki India had announced that it was suspending production following disruption of supplies from Subros after the fire.

Maruti Suzuki India's two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar remained suspended for the second day.

Subros' Manesar plant supplies over 90 per cent of its production to meet requirements of Maruti Suzuki.

On an average Maruti produces around 5,000 units a day from its two plants at Gurgaon and Manesar, which together have an annually capacity of rolling out 15 lakh units.

Subros, which is the country's largest auto air conditioning manufacturing firm, has an overall capacity to manufacture up to 10 lakh AC systems per annum.

It was founded in 1985 as a joint venture public limited company with 40 per cent ownership by Suri family and 13 per cent ownership by Denso Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation each.

Shares of Subros closed 0.50% up at Rs 89.95 apiece.
