The local MeT office issued a warning of thunder squall and hail and heavy rains at isolated places in lower and mid hills and heavy rains or snowfall in higher reaches on March 9 in the state.
It further warned of thunder squall and hail at isolated places tomorrow and on March 10 and also predicted rains and thundershowers at many places and rains and snow at some places in higher hills for six days from tomorrow.
High altitude tribal areas - Rohtang Pass and adjoining areas, including Kalpa and Manali - received 10 cm, 3 cm and 5 cm of snow respectively.
Seobagh and Bhuntar recorded 16 mm and 155 mm rains respectively, followed by Manali 13.8 mm, Manikaran 7 mm and Dalhousie 3 mm.
The maximum temperatures dropped by 4 to 5 degrees and Una recorded a high of 25.6 degrees Celsius, while Nahan and Solan recorded a high of 24.8 degrees Celsius and 22.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Dharamsala 19.2 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 18.4 degrees Celsius and Shimla 13.4 degrees Celsius.
There was no significant change in night temperatures and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti districts and Manali recorded minimum temperatures at minus 5.7 degrees Celsius, minus 0.6 degrees Celsius and 2.2 degrees Celsius.
Bhuntar and Shimla recorded a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius and 6.7 degrees Celsius respectively, followed by Sundernagar 7.1 degrees Celsius, Solan 7.4 degrees Celsius, Palampur 8.5 degrees Celsius, Una and Dharamsala 10.2 degrees Celsius each and Nahan 12.7 degrees Celsius.
