The incident happened yesterday at Nauchandi area when Shahbez, a neighbour of the victims barged into their house and tried to abduct the daugther of Noorjahan.
However, he failed to do so as Noorjahan came to her rescue. He stabbed the mother-daughter duo before escaping from the scene, they said.
She was shifted to a hospital after the neighbours and other family members came to scene. The assailant was arrested by the police as he was surrounded by the people and taken to custody.
