The woman, whose name was not disclosed by the police, was tracked down at a paying guest facility in Gurgaon. She was the last person whom Vipin had met before allegedly being shot dead by a group of assailants, said DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh.
Vipin's murder has turned out to be the fallout of the long-standing feud between Bharat Singh-Krishen Pehlwan and Udaiveer Kale, which led to the murder of Bharat Singh, said police.
Vipin was the driver and prime aide of Singh, working with him since his teenage years. After his death, Vipin became the driver of Singh's brother, Krishen Pehlwan, a former gangster, said police.
One of the accused involved in Vipin's murder is Hemant, a co-conspirator of Singh's murder, whom the Crime Branch had failed to track down, said police.
During interrogation, it emerged that the woman (arrested) was a friend of Aditya Shokeen, the nephew of Udaiveer Kale, and Shokeen had instructed the woman to befriend Vipin, said police.
On Tuesday, the woman called up Vipin and asked her to meet near the metro station at Rithala around 4 PM. She allegedly passed on the information to Shokeen, said police.
