A 30-year-old woman police constable has charged her live-in partner with raping her, police said today.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman constable, an offence was registered against Swastik Nagar resident Kuldeep Parmar (around 27 years of age) last evening, Central Kotwali police station in-charge Manju Yadav said.
Parmar, who works as a DTH cable technician, had once come to the residence of the victim to install a cable TV equipment, Yadav said.
Later, the two became friends and Parmar, while promising the woman to marry her, had a live-in relationship with her for three years.
However, he later refused to marry her, the police official said.
The woman then complained to police, following which offence has been registered against the accused under section 376 (rape) of the IPC.
Further investigation in the matter was on, police said adding that the accused has not been arrested so far.
