Woman withdraws complaint against BJP leader Karan S Tanwar

A woman, who had accused Karan Singh Tanwar of assaulting her last week, has withdrawn her police complaint against the BJP leader.
The Aam Aadmi Party had on Saturday demanded the resignation of Tanwar from the post of vice-chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council and his immediate arrest after he allegedly "outraged the modesty of a woman in full public view" by assaulting and abusing her on November 19 outside Naraina police station here.
The party had said that the victim had submitted a written complaint to SHO of Naraina police station alleging that Tanwar and his associates threatened and abused her in public view.

However, the woman has reportedly withdrawn her complaint saying that she has reached a compromise with the BJP leader and that she does not want any action against Tanwar and others.
In a press statement issued today, Tanwar claimed that the woman had filed a complaint against him following a misunderstanding between them regarding a demolition drive in the Delhi Cantt constituency, which he formerly represented in the Delhi Assembly.
The misunderstanding was later cleared and she took her complaint back, the BJP leader said in the statement.
The NDMC vice-chairperson also blamed AAP for its "dirty politics" in view of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

"AAP took advantage of the misunderstanding and used their dirty politics to defame me," Tanwar added.
