World's tallest Buddha statue comes up in China

World's tallest statue of Lord Buddha, built at a cost of USD 161 million, was unveiled today in east China's Jiangxi Province.
The 48-metre high Buddha statue was built at the Donglin Temple in Xingzi County of Jiujiang City.
The bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha, is believed to be the tallest of its kind in the world, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The project, with the total cost of about 1 billion yuan (USD 161 million) has been completed.
It was totally funded by private donations, the report said.
